HSEP 418 - Counterterrorism

HSEP 418 Counterterrorism Semester course; 3 lecture hours. 3 credits. Prerequisite: HSEP 301. This course examines the extent to which terrorism is a threat to U.S. national interests and security by analyzing terrorist organizations' strategies, tactics and methods of operation. It also evaluates the pros and cons of a variety of potential government (foreign and domestic) responses to terrorism, such as diplomacy, sanctions, covert action and military operations in both a historic and contemporary context.
