Description
Western Art History in the Luminous Years: 1890-1920. This period represents the birth of the modern art world. Associated, historical, cultural and social issues and the development of artists' philosophies will be studied. Movements and events covered include Fauvism, figural expressionism, Cubism, Blaue Reiter, die Brucke, Orphism, etc. Focus primarily on Europe, although some American topics will also be included. Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite(s): ART 283 or Instructor Consent.
