This was the hardest class at USC. The lectures were hard to follow, and the tests were far more rigorous than any practice problems. He's also largely unhelpful in office hours because he won't sit down and go through problems with you. You're on your own - do all the required homework problems and then some if you want any shot at doing well.

He is a kind and easy-going prof. The grade depends on two papers, and trust me if you keep notes of his lecture you will have everything you need for an A. There is less participation in the lecture but it's a class that makes you relax. Be active and talk to him! Ancient science is not so boring after all.
