PHIL 154 - Phil Social Science

Description
How do social sciences explain human actions? Are there social facts over and above facts about various individuals? Do values enter into social science? Class Notes: Some seats reserved for first-years and sophomores (with less than 60 credit hours earned) until April 17, 2020. If you believe you are a first-year or sophomore and are getting an error message when trying to register, check your ConnectCarolina Student Center to see if you are being projected as a junior/senior for next term (due to 60+ credit hours earned). If you have 60+ credit hours earned, you may not be able to enroll at this time. Please continue to check ConnectCarolina to see if an unrestricted seat opens or check back once the seat reservation is removed at the above-mentioned date. The seat reservations are only in place for a short while, so there will still be plenty of opportunity to try to get a seat in the class.

He's a brilliant guy, and the class is very fulfilling. He structures it for you to succeed - you write 5 papers, but he only counts the top 3. Karl gives great feedback, and is very flexible on deadlines. That being said, there's a lot of work. There are reading reflections every class, and he doesn't let you get away with any BS. Amazing overall

The material and coursework for the class are extremely interesting. I found the assignments helpful in understanding the material. The group and class collaboration are excellent. Min has a passion for what she is teaching and is very concerned with us actually learning. She is also incredibly gracious and willing to help outside of class.
