INLS 570 - Fnd of Programming Info Apps

Description
Prerequisite, COMP 110, COMP 116, or INLS 560, or equivalent course. Intermediate programming concepts in information processing and data analysis. Students will learn object-oriented programming, data structures, data analysis methods, and information processing techniques in the context of information science topics. Class Notes: Non- SILS students are not allowed to register for all other INLS courses as they are restricted to INLS major, minors and graduate students during early registration. NON-SILS students will need to add yourself to the waitlist in Connect Carolina for the course you are interested in, as we will not be keeping an internal waitlist. We will enroll from the waitlist as seats become available. *Undergraduates can only be on one waitlist at a time and 17 hours is the max during early registration. **We will begin to fill available seats from the waitlist in mid-December. If you are not waitlisted, you will not be allowed to enroll. Instruction Mode: in person on campus learners

Professor Capra is a really nice guy, and effective at getting his points across overall. However, in my experience he let the class slow down lectures too much to the point where we literally skipped at least 2 lectures and more material. He also is not very responsive to emails and doesn't make up for slow grading with strong feedback.

A great professor, really conveys programming concepts clearly. Wish he was a bit less of a soft touch: if anyone in the class is going to ask a bunch of questions that are just intended to make them sound smart he is going to humor them indefinitely. Otherwise really great.
