SKI 124 - Ski Instruction Children (PSIA Children Level 1)

Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the basic methodology and technical skills required of a professional ski teacher and coach for children. The class will be hands-on and offer Alpine Operations students the opportunity to practice newly-learned skills under supervision in a field environment. Students are encouraged to actively engage with professional ski associations. This course will help prepare students to take the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Level 1 exam for children. Class Notes: This class meets the first half of the semester. The first night, this class will meet on campus for course overview and introductions. All other nights this course meets at Titcomb Mountain, weather permitting. Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Mountain (there will be time the first night to meet other classmates for possible carpooling opportunities). Enrollment Requirements: SKI 120 (Orientation to the Snowsports Industry).
