CSD 5137 - Foundations of Clinical Practice III

Description
Speech Language Pathologists are responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Most health disciplines share common principles of diagnosis, therapy, and counseling, regardless of the age or disorder of the patients they serve. Being a clinician involves developing technical and critical thinking skills, relating to those we serve in a clinician-patient relationship, and working with other professionals to manage patients’ care. This course gives students an opportunity to learn what it takes to be a great clinician, the importance of inter-professional relationships, concept areas in supervision, and the necessary steps to getting the right job.
