BIOL 522 - Molecular Biology

Description
Study of the molecular processes involved in the flow of genetic information and the regulation of gene expression. Topics include a detailed study of chromatin remodeling, transcription, translation, regulatory RNAs, DNA damage and repair. Laboratory involves a semester-long project that utilizes a variety of recombinant DNA and protein expression techniques. Three one-hour lectures and one three-hour laboratory session per week. (Cross-listed as CHEM-390.) Prerequisite: BIOL-225 or BIOL/CHEM-320
