Survey of Jewish civilization during the Medieval period as interpreted through Jewish historical, religious,literary, and cultural developments. Topics include Jewish life in Arab lands and Christian Europe, Spanish Jewish poetry, biblical and talmudic exegesis, Medieval Jewish philosophy and Kabbalah. Selected readings from relevant secondary literature.
