JUDC 2075 - Jews in World Cinema

Description
In this course, students will learn to approach film critically, to analyze how film communicates the position of Jews in various cultures, and to examine the ways Jews have been depicted as film characters based on cultural “likes” and “dislikes.” Students will learn how a film speaks to an audience in image, sound, music, and story—shot by shot, sequence by sequence—and how these elements are incorporated into a narrative structure that educates, enlightens, and entertains.
