Introduction to astrophysics, with emphasis on stars and the interstellar medium. Physical laws of gravitation, charged particles, and radiation, applied to nucleosynthesis and stellar formation/evolution. Physical and chemical processes in the interstellar medium. Enrollment Requirements: Prereq: PHY 102 or 212 or 216 or AP Physics B exam score min 3 or AP Physics C (Elec & Mag) min score 3; Coreq: MAT 286 or 296 or AP MAT Calc AB exam score min 4 or AP MAT Calc BC min score 4.
