Development of national security policies post-World War II. Analysis of deterrence theory and assumptions upon which it is based. Effects of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, and other potential security threats upon the conduct of war, alliance systems, and the international system. Prospects of security and stability through cooperative security initiatives and efforts.
