3 Credit Hours This course surveys influences from prenatal throuh early childhood. This course focuses on growth and development from prenatal into early childhood. If examines the historical context for the modern conception of child development, congnitive development, health and nutrition, child rearing practices and infant stimulution. Highlights will be given to the social-historical-contextual approach to the rights to the development of young children and families. Labratory experience are employed to bring together theory and practice. (Prerequisite: Acceptable GPA and consent of department chair)
