This course surveys medieval Europe and emphasizes the development of feudalism, the Christian Church, the Byzantine and Carolingian Empires, and conflicts with Islam leading to the Crusades. It concludes with an examination of the 14th century political, economic, and social crisis that consumed Europe. (LA-A) Spring 2000
