SPAN 3340 - Intro To Spanish Literature

Description
Readings of sample poetry, prose and drama from the major periods of Spanish literature. The course stresses the use of literature as an avenue to understanding the values, behavior and conflicts characteristic of each period rather than focusing on details of literary style. Requires a minimum of high-intermediate proficiency in reading, writing and oral skills. Prerequisites :Placement score of at least 550 or completion of 6 hours of intermediate courses (SPAN 2312, 2326, 2325, or 2351) with a grade of C or better. Students in a 2000 level course beyond 2312 may enroll concurrently with permission of instructor. Fall, odd-numbered years; alternates with SPAN 3336, Introduction to Latin American Literature.
