Description
(spring term of even-numbered years) A survey of choral music from the medieval era to the present. Examines representative compositions with regard to genre, form, compositional procedures, and stylistic aspects. Includes sociopolitical conditions, the intellectual and artistic outlooks of patrons and composers, and other external influences. Prerequisite: Completion of the music history sequence or permission of division head. Add Consent: Department Consent Required.
