LIBR 110 - Information in the Digital Age

Description
In an age in which information is quickly and easily reproduced and recirculated, we often lose sight of its context. In this course, we will think critically about information: where it comes from, how it finds its way to you, how it’s used in the world, and what you can do with it. We will learn how to find and use (and cite) relevant sources. We will examine how information resources are structured, identify and critique the markers of authority, and reflect on and improve our own research practices. Enrollment Requirements: Co-requisite: English 110. Requirement Designation: Regular Liberal Arts.
