An introduction to the rhetorical thought of eighteenth and nineteenth-century Britain and America, focusing on the development of rhetorical theories within the contexts of (1) eighteenth-century Scottish moral philosophy, (2)English romanticism, and (3) the emergence and development of higher education in nineteenth-century America.
