WGSST 5620 - Topics In Feminist Studies

Description
Topics vary by course and instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 6 cr hrs or 6 completions. Class Notes: This course explores popular culture?s representations of and impact on male, female, and transgender masculinities in multiple media, exploring how these masculinities are constituted by race, class, sexuality, and nation. The aims of this course are: 1) to introduce intersectional frameworks of analysis of these topics; 2) to give students critical tools of interpretation (theories of representation and masculinities); and 3) to develop skills of close reading.
