ENGRUH 2113 - Introduction to Manufacturing Processes

Description
This course introduces students to the various manufacturing processes and their basic principles. Topics in this course include overview of different manufacturing processes and their applications, metal-casting fundamentals and processes, metal-forming processes including rolling, forging, extrusion, drawing, sheet-metal and powder-metal processes, fundamentals and types of machining processes, welding and other joining processes. The last part of this course will cover non-conventional manufacturing processes such as electrochemical machining, electrical-discharge machining, and abrasive jet machining and additive manufacturing (3D printing). Lab tours, experimental demonstrations and one 3D printing lab session will be part of the course. Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite is ENGR-UH 1021J.
