DESL1GC 2028 - ESL Listening and Speaking for Academic Purposes 8

In this course, you will focus on developing the speaking and listening skills necessary to participate in a university classroom setting or in other situations requiring formal or professional English language skills. You will work with a variety of materials to summarize, discuss, and analyze information presented. You will make presentations, which will receive peer feedback as well as instructor comments. By the end of the course, you will be able to offer opinions as well as respond to the opinions of others. You will also learn to see both sides of an argument and to take a stand and support a position. Finally, you will improve stress and intonation, learn to interpret underlying messages, and organize, develop and critique presentations. Drop Consent: Department Consent Required.
