PSY 3620 - Abnormal Psychology

Description
Prerequisites: PSY 1001 Crosslisting: HON 3620 This course examines and evaluates the major theories of abnormal behavior: biological, behavioral, cognitive, and sociocultural. The course provides a description of the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional patterns defmed as abnormal, and examines the current classification system and assessment procedures. Students will examine causal models of abnormal behavior from an integrated systems approach. Biological, psychological and social treatments of psychological disorders are also discussed and evaluated. Classification, etiology and treatment will be examined using case studies. Note: Credit will be granted for only one prefix: HON or PSY
