PSY 3390 - Teaching Assistant

Description
Prerequisites: PSY 1001 and Permission of Instructor Students will serve as a teaching assistant for a specified course under the direct supervision of the instructor. Students need to have already taken the course for which they will be serving as a Teaching Assistant The use of various pedagogical theories, methods, strategies, and ethical principles relevant to the teaching of psychology will be explored. Students will develop the skills necessary to create as well as implement a variety of course materials, learning assessment tools, and grading procedures. Professional development as it relates to the scholarship of teaching will be emphasized. Departmental permission is required to enroll in this course and it may be repeated once for a maximum of six hours of credit.
