CDES 3623 - Identity and Systems Design

Description
Prerequisite(s): CDES 3215 with C- or better; or permission of department Co or Prerequisite(s): CDES 3222 with a C- or better; or permission of department Students in this course focus on the historical and contemporary practice of designing brand identity and related systems applications. Subjects for investigation include identity design, application of brand strategy, and design of system architecture. Students research design processes, create communicative identity marks, and apply strategies to design systems, applications, products and services. Students engage in an in-depth study of the qualities, ideals, elements and dynamics that shape branded communication design outcomes. Emphasis is on creating strong, clear conceptualization processes over a series of related communication design pieces that cross digital, social media and print formats.
