MC 333 - Performance, Politics, Nation

Description
Analysis of theories of and approaches to political performances and constructions of cultural nationalism, which includes social construction theory, the sociology of performance, ethnography, ethnomusicology and folklore, and critical approaches to nationalism, from classic studies to issues in gender, race, and post-colonialism. Prerequisites: MC 230 or MC 231 or MC 280 or MC 281 or approval of college. Spring of every year.
