Gender and language in societies around the world. Issues such as status, power and politeness in monolingual and multilingual societies. The role of gender in language development, language variation and language change. Prerequisites: (VM 533 or EPI 810) and (EPI 808 or EPI 808B). Clearly a very friendly and well-informed professor. The course itself was online which limited the amount we could interact with him but he clearly cared a lot about us and provided as much support as possible.
