BIOL 1803 - Scientific and Cultural Perspectives of Vaccines and Epidemics

Description
Exploration of the science behind vaccines and epidemics, the ways in which vaccines and epidemics are portrayed in our culture, and how epidemics have shaped history. Includes a service-learning component in which students design and implement a public health campaign to encourage flu vaccinations on campus.prereq: new college student in their first semester of enrollment at UMM Credit will not be granted if credit has been received for: BIOL 1054. Class Notes: This class is required for all new college students in their first semester of enrollment. Students are not allowed to drop it without consultation with Academic Advising. Enrollment Requirements: new college student in their first semester of enrollment at UMM.
