Covers capital budgeting, investment decisions and valuation; working capital management, security issues; dividend policy; optimal capital structure; and real options analysis. Lab component puts theory into practice through hands-on projects - students either conduct an event study and analyze its impact on firm capital market value, or conduct a merger model between two firms of the their choosing. Emphasizes use of research databases to test hypotheses. Provides instruction in writing and speaking from a financial perspective. Meets with 15.402 when offered concurrently. Final examination.
