Description
Prereq: Calculus I (GIR). Presents probability from the perspective of applied mathematics, with strong emphasis on an intuitive overview of key theorems and continuing demonstrations of their usefulness. Covers the laws of probability and numerous important discrete and continuous random variables, both individually and in combination. Introduces simulation. Draws applications from economics, finance, engineering, marketing, public policy, operations management, and operations research. Meets with 15.079 when offered concurrently. Expectations and evaluation criteria differ for students taking graduate version; consult syllabus or instructor for specific details. Final examination.
