Shi Chen

Shi Jie is great. I took Thermodynamics last semester and after taking one look at the book, thought I was going to fail. I ended up with an A. If you pay attention and study hard, then you will pass. He was always willing to clarify, and had some quite elegant explanations for some concepts.

Lectures are well-paced. Sometimes tests on things that he said in class that aren't in the textbook, but you could probably reason to them if you have time. Exams aren't toughly graded, but they will take all the time you have in class - make sure you know content! Homework isn't long but is /difficult/. Professor is very available outside class.
