(cross-leveled with ANTHRO 4650). Covers the archaeology and prehistory of Mesoamerica (Mexico and Northern Central America). Emphasis on archaeological evidence for development of human societies from late Pleistocene hunting bands to complex agricultural civilizations encountered by Europeans in 1500s. Enrollment Requirements: Graduate standing is required.
