ANTHRO 7580 - Evolutionary Medicine

Description
(cross-leveled with ANTHRO 4580). Principles of modern evolutionary theory are applied to medical problems. Topics include: function of symptoms (fever, nausea, etc.); strategies of pathogens; senescence; cancer; phylogenetic constraints; mental disorders. Ideas will be actively discussed in class. Enrollment Requirements: Graduate standing is required.
