The seminar is available to any graduate student considering or actively pursuing a thesis in any area of communication disorders, with any advisor. Priority attention will be given to students who have actually started the thesis process. Students not actually into the thesis process will be expected to participate in problem solving, and other activities of critical thinking. Each student will provide a weekly update of research and writing activities. In this way, actual problems maybe confronted as they occur. Students may rehearse thesis presentation and defense; ask and answer questions about research process and results; and prepare themselves for actual thesis committee meetings. The scientific process, methods for organization and analysis of data, manuscript content, ethical standards, and The Publication Manual of the AmericanPsychological Association will be stressed.
