Be prepared to re evaluate most of the beliefs that you have when it comes to multiculturalism in Canada and in the rest of the world. Philip Carl Salzman is essential because he is one of the last professor in the Anthropology department to oppose new trends in anthropology such as extreme cultural relativism or a rejection of fact based arguments

I don't understand why he gets bad marks on this. He's a bit boring at times, but extremely clear, and seems like a nice guy. The class is very easy in terms of grading and reading assignments. And yeah, it's annoying that he makes us buy his own book, but that book tells you pretty much everything you need to know for the course.
