ESL 0342 - Listening 4

Description
This course focuses on the spoken communication and active listening skills necessary for college level study. Students practice a variety of listening skills including note taking, comprehension of main idea and detail, inference, and determining viewpoint, genre and/or tone. Speaking topics are designed to allow students to apply the content, language, grammar, and style they have practiced in their texts. Speaking activities include interviews, debates, role play, and group presentations. This course is the last class the ESL listening sequence, which is designed to prepare English language learners to take college courses leading to a certificate, degree, and/or transfer.
