This course provides students with an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of Women's Studies, examining historical and contemporary concepts of gender as they relate to social, political, and cultural institutions and issues. The course provides multiple perspectives examining role of gender, including attention to foundational resources in feminist theory, creative expression through arts and literature, feminist theories, and comparative cultural conditions of women.
