CHDEV 042 - Teaching In A Diverse Society

Description
Students examine the development of social identities in diverse societies including theoretical and practical implications affecting young children, families, programs, teaching, education and schooling. Culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate anti-bias approaches supporting all children in becoming competent members of a diverse society. The course involves self-reflection of one's own understanding of educational principles in integrating anti-bias goals in order to better inform teaching practices and/or program development. Class Notes: Due to COVID 19 pandemic, this class will be conducted remotely and online with SOME REQUIRED virtual scheduled meetings. Current schedule should be considered when selecting this class.
