NURS 40020 - Community Health Nursing

Description
Concepts of community health nursing with emphasis on health promotion and prevention of population-based health problems, locally and globally. This course integrates concepts to prepare students to deliver culturally congruent and appropriate care in the United States and across the world. Students will gain insight into the health problems facing diverse populations. Students will use an epidemiological approach to assess community health and identify subgroups within the community or globally that are at risk for disease, disability, and premature death. Students must be admitted to the Professional Nursing Sequence to be able to register for this course. Students are responsible for their transportation to field experience. Prerequisite: Minimum C grade in NURS 30010, NURS 30020, NURS 30025, NURS 30035 and NURS 30050. Corequisites: NURS 40030.
