In this course students will focus on developing a) practical and aural skills in technical listening with respect to quantitative audio features, b) fundamental theoretical understanding of common audio effects, c) vocabulary and communication skills for the discussion of sound quality, and d) an understanding of audio components and signal flow. Class Notes: Students will meet on campus in the CLEAR Lab one day a week.Half of the class will attend in-person on Tuesdays with the second half attending in-person on Thursdays. The instructor will notify students via email prior to the start of class which days they are to attend on campus. This is a Hybrid class taught both on campus and online using Canvas (http://canvas.iu.edu). This is a traditional hybrid course which includes a combination of online and on-campus instruction. Regular meetings on-campus are expected. You will work with your faculty member to determine when you will be on campus and when you will be connecting online at a particular day and time.
