PSY 665 - Contemporary Issues in School Psychology

Description
This course reviews various recent developments and best practices in school psychology. Emphasis will be placed on alternative models and methods of assessment, consultation, and intervention as part of a systematic data collection process that results in empirically-based decisions about service delivery and that permit an evaluation of service outcome. Specific topics also include: functional behavior assessment, curriculum-based assessment, Response-to-Intervention (RTI), Positive Behavioral Supports, diversity awareness, and legal and professional issues. Students will be exposed to interprofessional learning modules and other IPE activities designed to enhance student ability to collaborate with other professionals.
