This course provides early childhood teacher candidates with the basic framework for designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate integrated curriculum for young children in inclusive settings. Teacher candidates will learn how to create a supportive learning environment for developing the physical, social, emotional, moral, linguistic, and intellectual competencies in all children; developmentally appropriate instruction and assessment strategies to support learning are major foci of this course. The integration of the NYS Learning Standards, technology, and play as a vital role in child development are also addressed in this course.
