Dowley makes Design easy to approach for beginners and gives creative freedom. Projects were graded fairly so just put in a lot of effort and care about your artwork! Super flexible with deadlines and is happy to help with any issues you have. Doesn't really lecture a lot and you do the learning by yourself as you experience art-making.

The class is graded on 6 projects and a few warm up assignments. Design I is a great class to start off your art journey in as it helps you with creativity, composition, and color theory with methods of art including painting (acrylic), line work, paper cutting, and collages. His project guidelines are flexible and he's really understanding.
