HIST 290 - World War III: a History

Description
The frightening vision of a Third World War has gripped the United States since even before the Second World War ended. When might the next global conflict start? How might it be fought? And what might a post-WWIII world look like? Throughout the Cold War and beyond, politicians, diplomats, military officials, scientists, religious ministers, fiction writers, peace activists, and ordinary citizens have all been struggling to anticipate, plan, survive, or prevent the world war that is yet to come.

Took Toshi for WW3. Lecture itself was somewhat dull, but overall it was an interesting and easy class. Attendance is mandatory, but there are no tests (only papers) so you don't need to pay attention. The essays are straightforward and you get 3 grace days for them. Would definitely recommend.

Painter is no doubt a really nice guy and a knowledgeable prof, but I'm not sure why his rating is so high. His lectures are not very stimulating (and im interested in the subject). The grading is fair, though the work may be more than you are expecting. The three 10 page papers demand more work than your average 10 pager.
