CHEM 581 - Statistical Mechanics

Description
This course will cover basic and modern statistical mechanics of large numbers of molecules. Two-thirds of the course will be on the statistical thermodynamics of ideal monatomic, diatomic and polyatomic gases; crystals; and chemical equilibrium while one-third will be on the fundamentals of modern computer simulation methods for real molecules. Prerequisite: physical chemistry or permission of instructor.
