CHEM 571 - Bio-Organic Chemistry

Description
This course will cover topics in the interdisciplinary area of chemistry concerned with employing techniques of organic chemistry to understand or control biological processes. Topics covered will include chemical genetics (controlling gene product activity with small molecules), amino acid and peptide synthesis, proteins, enzyme catalysis, and nucleic acid chemistry. Prerequisites: Organic and Physical Chemistry
