This course is designed to help students develop the basic skills necessary for success in MAT 1033, Intermediate Algebra. The course involves a variety of teaching and learning methods, including lecture, discussion, cooperative learning, lab-enhanced learning, and others. The major topics in the course are real numbers and their properties, exponents and polynomials, linear equations and linear inequalities, as well as an introduction to applications, factoring, rational expressions, radicals (square roots), and graphing in two variables. This course does not apply toward the associates degree. Class Notes: This is a hybrid section of this course and is a blend of online and on-campus instruction. The class will meet at the campus and days noted on the MyFSCJ schedule. The remainder of the class is online and must be accessed in Blackboard through MyFSCJ. Students must have stable internet access. Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: Appropriate score on a college placement test or completion of MAT 0018 with a grade of "C" or better (for non-exempt students).
