This course will offer introduction to applied probability theory. Bayesian analysis of model uncertainties, formulation of structural reliability for components and systems, approximate solutions by second-moments, first- and second-order reliability methods (FORM and SORM), the response surface method, simulation methods, risk-based optimal design and probabilistic design.
