ENGL 4080 - British Romanticism

Description
This course seeks to provide coverage of the "Big Six" British Romantic poets - Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Shelley, and Keats - while challenging the notion that these few poets define what we think of a "Romantic Poetry." Through careful readings of women writers and less well-known male writers, the course explores a full range of historical, intellectual, and social events from 1789-1834. LIT. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1100 , ENGL 1200, and 2000 level or above
