ANTR 350 - World Archaeology

Description
Prerequisite: sophomore standing. This course provides a global review of archaeology beginning with the appearance of the first hominids (the Australopithecines) through the beginnings of agriculture and the advent of social stratification and culturally complex civilizations. Topics include an overview of human evolution, the first humans and their hunting-gathering lifestyles, the increasing specialization of hunter-gatherers and the dawn of horticulture-agriculture.
