Music Theory II: Diatonic Harmony A study of two-voice counterpoint using a modified species technique develops an understanding of vocie leading during the common practice period. The second half of the course completes a survey of diatonic, functional harmony including triads built on all scale degrees and the dominant seventh chord. Analysis and composition of music using all course materials. To be taken concurrently with MUS 104: Aural Skills II. Prerequisite: MUS 108 with a final grade not below C or consent of Department.
